Now, in your own words, tell us anything else you like about your journey with TBI.: On May 27,2015 while on vacation, we received a call from our son-in-law, telling us that our granddaughter Lee was in a near fatal car accident. We left immediately to return to Connecticut to the critical care unit and Yale/New Haven hospital. Before we went into her room, our grandson Ben shared a picture of Lee with us of what to expect before going into the room. The picture alone gut punched us both. When we entered the room we saw our beautiful granddaughter in a coma and attached to machines all over her body. We realized then that our lives as grandparents would be changed forever.
